Frequently Asked Questions
How do I play Trips?
Place cards on a shared grid to form "trips" — three of the same value in a row, column, or diagonal. Each trip scores a point. Place a fourth matching card on someone else's trip to steal it. The game ends when the deck runs out, and the player with the most points wins.
What is a "quad steal"?
If your opponent has three of a kind on the board and you place the fourth card of that value adjacent to their trip, you steal the point. It's the core tension of the game — no trip is safe until it's capped.
What does "capping" mean?
Capping is placing cards on both ends of a trip so no one can extend it to four. Once a trip is capped, it's safe from steals.
How does online multiplayer work?
Tap "Online" from the main menu to create or join a room. Share the room code with friends. Games support 2–6 players and are played in real time.
Can I play offline?
Yes. You can play against AI opponents or pass-and-play with friends on the same device. No internet connection is required for single-player or local games.
How do I save my game?
Single-player games are saved automatically when you leave. Return to the main menu and tap "Resume" to pick up where you left off.
What are trophies?
Trophies are achievements you earn by reaching milestones — winning streaks, total games played, high scores, and more. Check your collection from the main menu.
The app is crashing or not loading.
Try force-quitting the app and reopening it. If the problem persists, make sure you're running the latest version from the App Store. If it still doesn't work, email us at support@trips.cards with your device model and iOS version.
